- Liver shunts—congenital birth defects that inhibit the liver’s ability to flush out toxins
- Open fontanelles—soft spots in the skull that don’t close due to stunted growth, leaving dogs more vulnerable to sudden death after trauma
- Heart & respiratory problems
- Fragile bones—prone to arthritis
